In an age, when celebrity brand ambassadors endorse one too many products diluting the exclusivity they bring to the brand image, will having a ‘human mascot’ manage to start a new trend, one which the Onida devil perhaps had given advertising a peek to, many years ago. Manish Bhatt, Founder Director of Scarecrow M&C Saatchi and Rajiv Rao, Director, Nirvana Films take a shot at it with ‘Cristopher’ a human mascot for Cristos, a newly launched Mexican Chilli flavoured chips brand from Gujarat based Gopal Snacks Limited. But will Cristopher (actor Pratik Motwani) gain as much popularity as the much-loved Onida devil from the 1980s, only time can tell.
