upGrad, one of Asia’s largest integrated learning and workforce development companies, has announced the appointment of Amit Mehta as the Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO), effective 8th October 2024.
Amit brings extensive experience from Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL), where he held various HR leadership positions. In his new role at upGrad, he will drive the company’s global people strategy, focusing on organisational effectiveness, talent development, and performance management initiatives. His expertise is expected to play a crucial role in fostering a culture of innovation and inclusion as upGrad enters its next growth phase.
Before joining upGrad, Amit headed the HR function for HUL's Home Care division and served as Talent & Organization Director for Unilever's South Asia markets. His leadership has been pivotal in enhancing HUL's standing as an Employer of Choice and advancing Leadership Development and People Analytics initiatives. His comprehensive experience spans HR Business Partnership, strategic advisory roles, and crafting people strategies across Unilever’s markets in India, Sri Lanka, and Europe.

Amit Mehta holds an MBA in HR from XLRI Jamshedpur and a B.Tech in Information Technology from VJTI Mumbai.
