India’s public service broadcasting agency, Prasar Bharti, has commenced the process of on-boarding permitted/licensed satellite TV channels for streaming on its OTT platform for a period of one year.
The contract will take effect from the date that streaming channel is placed on the platform.
Eligibility Criteria:
Only companies holding valid permissions/licenses from the Ministry of I&B for downlinking/distribution in India under relevant channels will be eligible for streaming on the OTT platform.

The official notification also stated that advertisements on the OTT stream will be inserted at appropriate junctures by the agency itself. The clean feed of successful channels will be carried on the OTT platform on revenue sharing basis which will be the ratio of 65:35 (65% channel, 35% Prasar Bharti).
If the agency is unable to fill the entire ad slot duration then Prasar Bharti will utilise the leftover slot duration for promotional videos of Prasar Bharti and their respective streaming channels.
Prasar Bharti will also rank all the applicant channels on the basis of the DAVP rate cards. The selection criteria will be on the basis of the highest rate of a channel under time bands. Channels having highest rates as per DAVP rates card in the respective category will be selected for streaming on the OTT platform.
