Meta has launched its safety campaign ‘Scams se Bacho’ in collaboration with Bollywood actor Ayushmann Khurrana, focusing on educating the public about staying safe from online scams. This initiative is in partnership with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre (I4C), and the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB). The campaign underscores Meta’s commitment to safeguarding users online while supporting government efforts to address the increasing prevalence of scams and cyber fraud.
The educational initiative highlights common scams that individuals face, urging vigilance and caution before taking any action. The promotional film features Khurrana as a watchful wedding guest who saves others from falling victim to scams through his quick thinking and comedic flair. It showcases various safety features available on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp, empowering users to enhance their online security.

The campaign addresses a range of scams, including OTP scams that compromise personal accounts, impersonation scams that create urgency, and investment scams promising unrealistic returns. It illustrates how Meta's safety features can help protect users from online threats.
With over 40,000 employees focused on safety and security globally, Meta has invested more than $20 billion in technology since 2016. This includes 15,000 content reviewers monitoring platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and Threads in over 70 languages, including 20 Indian languages. Over the past three years, Meta has launched more than 50 safety tools and features, continuously seeking new ways to enhance online safety and educate users.
