IndiGo, one of India's top airline operators, has teamed up with global audio streaming platform Spotify to introduce 6E Shuffle, a groundbreaking initiative that curates exclusive travel playlists based on users' journeys and preferences. This unique collaboration also offers customers who book and travel directly with IndiGo a complimentary four-month subscription to Spotify Premium.
Through the 6E Shuffle experience, listeners will receive personalised playlists tailored to their travel destinations, moods, and genre preferences. These curated playlists will be accessible via the Spotify app. Additionally, leveraging Spotify’s innovative technology, travellers will be provided with destination suggestions that align with their musical tastes, enhancing the overall travel experience. Customers can also explore IndiGo's destination pages for detailed information about these locations.
Recent data from Spotify indicates that Indian listeners search for travel-related music over 2.2 million times monthly, with the highest volume of searches coming from Gen Z users aged 18 to 24. Interestingly, the peak search time this year occurred between 3-4 PM, while travel-related music searches reached a high on April 20.
The 6E Shuffle initiative creatively merges travel and music—two elements closely intertwined with consumer behaviour and emotional connections, particularly in crafting memorable experiences. As part of this collaboration, a promotional video featuring I-Pop and film artist Armaan Malik will encourage IndiGo travellers to "tune in and take off in style," showcasing that "there’s a 6E playlist for every journey."
Neetan Chopra, Chief Digital and Information Officer, IndiGo, stated, "We are delighted to announce our collaboration with Spotify to offer our customers a one-of-a-kind travel experience with a complimentary four-month subscription and personalised playlists. Travel and music are interconnected, and this partnership reflects our commitment to meeting the evolving needs of our customers, enabling memorable journeys."
Neha Ahuja, Director of Marketing, Spotify India, added, "Music is an integral part of travel, whether for work or holidays. Our partnership with IndiGo is significant as it allows us to connect with both existing and new users. This year alone, listeners on Spotify in India created several lakh playlists centred on travel."
