Godrej Appliances Launches AI-Powered Automated Line for Front Load Washing Machines

Godrej Appliances, a division of Godrej & Boyce and part of the Godrej Enterprises Group, has unveiled a cutting-edge, fully automated manufacturing line for its new range of AI-powered front load washing machines. The new facility, located in Shirwal near Pune, spans 100,000 square feet and represents a strategic investment of approximately INR 100 crore. This capital expenditure is directed towards advanced machinery, tools, infrastructure, and backward integration.

The new automated plant will significantly bolster Godrej Appliances' market presence, increasing production capacity by 300,000 units per year. This expansion will nearly double the output of their automatic washing machine portfolio. The facility, certified Greenco Platinum Plus, also produces a range of other appliances, including refrigerators, air conditioners, semi and top-load washing machines, medical refrigerators, InsuliCool, and Qube.

The new washing machine range features several advanced functions, including a Steam Wash programme that effectively cleans clothes and removes over 100 types of stains up to two days old, a Refresh programme that deodorises fabrics, and a FabriSafe™ Drum that maintains fabric quality. Additionally, these machines dry clothes 30 minutes faster and include features such as auto drum clean reminders, anti-rust cabinets, overflow protection, a two-year comprehensive warranty, and a ten-year motor warranty.
