Duolingo, a leading global mobile learning platform, has announced a new partnership with Sony Music to enhance its Music course by integrating popular songs from renowned artists. This collaboration aims to make music education more engaging and enjoyable for learners.
Through this partnership, more than 60 songs from Sony Music’s extensive roster are now incorporated into Duolingo’s Music course. This includes tracks from prominent artists such as Hozier, Meghan Trainor, and Whitney Houston. The feature allows users to study various aspects of music, including music theory, note reading, and sound differentiation, using a digital mobile piano.
George Audi, Head of Business Development at Duolingo, commented, “We are committed to making learning both effective and enjoyable. Our collaboration with Sony Music enables us to offer a diverse selection of chart-topping songs, enhancing our learners' experience by integrating familiar music into their studies.”
Jessica Shaw, Senior Vice President of Sync Licensing at Sony Music, added, “This partnership provides an excellent opportunity to introduce our artists' music to a platform dedicated to learning and cultural exchange. Music has a unique ability to connect and inspire people, and we believe this collaboration will enrich music education in a meaningful way.”
The integration of popular songs from over 40 artists into Duolingo's Music course is designed to improve learning retention and comprehension. This initiative aims to make learning to read and play music a more enjoyable experience for millions of users globally.
