Colour Palette Films' emotionally stirring production for CaratLane, titled Postcards- Khul Ke Karo Express, has been awarded Best Film in the 'Fashion and Accessories' category at the prestigious International Advertising Association (IAA) India Chapter Awards. The film, which explores the tender relationship between a mother and son, was produced in collaboration with creative agency BBH India and has garnered praise for its poignant storytelling.
Directed by Arunima Sharma, Khul Ke Karo Express is part of a broader campaign by CaratLane, featuring a unique concept where video messages are embedded within jewellery, transforming the gifting experience. The film beautifully conveys this innovation while capturing the emotional depth of familial bonds. The campaign, which includes three different heart-warming stories, aims to provide a fresh perspective on jewellery as a medium for personal expression.
The film’s success is attributed to its careful attention to detail in the script, characterisation, and production. Colour Palette Films worked closely with BBH India during pre-production to ensure the film’s emotional impact was preserved throughout. The casting of Komal Chhabria as the mother and Eklavya as the son contributed significantly to the film's authentic portrayal of emotion. The soft lighting, bittersweet music, and warm visual palette further enhance the film’s resonance with viewers.
Sayan Banerjee, Executive Producer of Khul Ke Karo Express and Founder of Colour Palette Films, shared his thoughts on the project: "The partnership with CaratLane has been creatively fulfilling. The emotional richness of the script inspired us, and we worked diligently to reflect this in the production. The music, especially the use of the sarangi, added an additional layer of depth to the storytelling. We were fortunate to have a talented cast and crew who brought these subtle yet powerful emotions to life."
Colour Palette Films, founded by Banerjee, has established itself as a leading production house with over 12 years of experience in feature and advertising film production.
