Capital-A, a leading venture capital fund for seed to early-stage start-ups, has promoted Aswani Chaitanya, Partner. This strategic move aligns with the firm's commitment to expanding its influence in high-growth sectors, including manufacturing, deeptech, climate, and fintech.
In his new role, Aswani will work closely with Ankit Kedia, Founder of Capital-A, to develop investment strategies, lead fundraising initiatives, and enhance portfolio management. His significant contributions to Capital-A’s Fund I, which backed impactful start-ups such as Chargeup, Tan90, Bambrew, Jiraaf, and Leumas, highlight his proven expertise in driving venture success.
In 2024, Capital-A launched Fund II, targeting a corpus of INR 400 crore and planning to invest in 17 to 20 innovative companies. The fund aims to provide initial investments of $750K to $1 million, with total commitments of up to $3 million per start-up. This initiative underscores Capital-A's dedication to fostering sustainable innovation and supporting companies poised to transform their industries.

Aswani brings over 15 years of corporate experience to his new position, having held roles at prestigious organisations including Wipro, Deutsche Bank, and Goldman Sachs. His entrepreneurial journey began with a D2C brand, Timios, a healthy snack brand for children, which he scaled and sold to FirstCry in 2021 before joining Capital-A.
