British Airways has launched a new TV advert as part of its centenary celebrations for flying between the UK and India. The campaign, titled ‘Family in the Skies,’ highlights the airline's long-standing commitment to customer service and showcases over 100 of its colleagues from across five Indian cities.
The advertisement, which airs from today, tells the story of a young woman travelling to the UK. After her van breaks down on the way to the airport, British Airways staff step in to help, offering her and her family a ride to the terminal. The short film aims to capture the airline’s dedication to making every journey feel personal, with staff going above and beyond to assist customers as though they are family.
Created with input from Indian and British creative teams, the ad features 25 British Airways colleagues, and it is backed by an extensive out-of-home campaign showing an additional 78 staff members. British Airways has partnered with renowned Indian filmmaker Prakash Varma, acting coach Chandan Kumar, and photographer Avani Rai to bring the campaign to life.
“This campaign not only marks 100 years of British Airways flying to India, but it also shows who we truly are: your family in the skies,” said Calum Laming, Chief Customer Officer at British Airways. The airline has over 2,500 employees based in India, making it the company’s largest workforce outside the UK.
The TV advert will air across cinema, connected TV, and social media platforms, with key placements ahead of major films like Singham Again, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, and Red One. Additionally, British Airways will roll out an out-of-home campaign in the cities it serves in India: Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, and Hyderabad.
British Airways currently operates more than 50 weekly flights between India and London and plans to increase this number to over 60 next summer, adding a third daily service from Delhi.
