British Airways is commemorating 100 years of connecting India and the UK by bringing the vibrant flavours of India to its flights. Until the end of November, the airline will offer specially curated menus, traditional Indian delicacies, and an extensive collection of Indian films for passengers flying to the UK, US, and Canada.
As part of this centenary celebration, British Airways has introduced a limited-time inflight dining experience that features authentic Indian dishes. The exclusive menu, crafted by the airline’s catering team, showcases:
- Phaldari kofta with five spice vegetables and korma sauce
- Spiced grilled lamb rack served with okra do pyaza and Rogan josh sauce
- Railway lamb curry with basmati rice
- Zafrani chicken paired with coconut rice and saag makai
- Young jackfruit biryani
- Bhapa doi topped with mangoes, papaya, and passion fruit
To complement these culinary offerings, passengers can enjoy a selection of spiced chai from Twinings, which captures the essence of India's cherished masala chai culture, blending cardamom, cinnamon, and ginger for a comforting beverage.
In keeping with the celebration, British Airways will also offer Godawan, a single malt whisky from the Rajasthan region, in its Club World (business class) cabin, allowing customers to toast to a century of excellence in service.
Enhancing the inflight experience further, the airline will feature over 100 Indian films. Passengers can enjoy classics like The Burning Train and Dil Chahta Hai, alongside recent hits such as Kantara and Jawan.
Calum Laming, Chief Customer Officer of British Airways, remarked, “We’re proud to have a long history of connecting India and the UK. Our predecessor, Imperial Airlines, first flew to New Delhi in 1924, and we’ve since expanded operations from London to five major Indian cities. This centenary is a significant milestone for us, and we’re excited to celebrate with our customers.”
British Airways currently operates 56 flights per week from India to London Heathrow, including three daily flights from Mumbai, double daily from Delhi, and daily services from Chennai, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad. Starting from 20 April 2025, the airline will increase its schedule to 63 flights per week, adding a third daily flight between Delhi and London Heathrow.
