Leo Burnett and Shaadi.com have innovated a whole new way to help couples get married, without even stepping out of their homes during lockdown. With their latest initiative #WeddingsFromHome, the entire wedding ceremony and celebrations are conducted virtually, from within the safety of their homes. Conceptualised and executed by Leo Burnett India, the first virtual wedding took place on April 14. The first couple to get married was Avinash & Kirti from Ghaziabad who went ahead with a traditional Hindu ceremony albeit via video conferencing. Shaadi.com and Leo Burnett pulled out all stops to ensure that nothing is amiss for the couple on their big day. From make-up and mehndi artists to dhol and sangeet performances by family everything was carefully planned out. Wedding invites were sent with video call links and even a special backdrop was designed to create the right atmosphere and setting. With over 200 people joining in via video call, the couple was surrounded by friends and family as they tied the knot. Post the wedding, special food delivery was organized to the houses of all guests to distribute sweets and food. Highlights of the wedding were also showcased on Shaadi.com’s social media handles.
