IMPACT CMO 40 Under 40, 2024 honoured the best marketing professionals in a glittering ceremony in Delhi which saw eminent leaders, and industry experts gather. Together they celebrated the remarkable achievements of the future faces of the marketing industry.

The second edition of the list recognised leaders who are under 40 years of age and have demonstrated exceptional skills, innovation, and leadership in the marketing field. It put the spotlight on individuals who have made a significant impact with their groundbreaking work, shaping the industry’s landscape.

The list saw representation from both men and women achievers from across sectors. There are eight women who’ve made it to the list while the number of men is 27 totaling to 35, a slight deviation from 40 names last year, in a bid by the jury to confine the list to the crème de la crème of the industry. The FMCG sector saw the highest representation with a total of 13 winners, followed by BFSI and Digital Platforms with seven and six winners, respectively. The list also witnessed three winners from Consumer Durables industry, and two each from Healthcare-Pharmaceutical and Retail. The Automobile and Jewellery industries had one winner each.

The list was put together by a jury of most esteemed industry leaders, led by CVL Srinivas, Country Manager – India, WPP. Adrit currently leads marketing, operations, & product at Tata Starbucks. He began his career as an Assistant Manager at Tata Motors and further served as manager at Croma and Tata Housing before joining Starbucks India. Since his entry into the company and in his recent role helming the product and marketing team, he has played a pivotal role in shaping the success story of the brand, leading growth and marketing while overseeing operations for the company. Adrit played a pivotal role as a founding member of the TATA Starbucks team, overseeing the successful launch of the brand in India. He holds an MBA from IIM Calcutta, along with a master’s degree in Statistics and a bachelor’s degree in technology.

A marketing professional with 13 years of diverse work experience in retail and automobile sector, Ajay Maurya led P&L, product management, marketing communication, digital marketing, new product development, merchandising, and supply chain management at The Titan company. Ajay was responsible for leading iconic brands like Titan, Fastrack, Raga, Nebula, and Xylys. He completed MBA from IIM Lucknow and under-graduation from the Delhi College of Engineering. He began his career as a GET working in supply chain management of Maruti Suzuki and then collected cross functional experience of working in multiple companies under the aegis of TAS (Tata Administrative Services), Tata Group leadership development programme.

A curious digital-first marketer with experience in India, APAC & the US markets, Alok Arya is known for managing large-scale projects and teams. As a marketer who is passionate about ideas and people, Arya has worked with IIFL, Piramal’s, Google, The Future Group, and Tata Sons. Currently, he is working at Equentis, steering growth towards a Fintech Unicorn. During his tenure, Equentis has successfully launched a new brand identity with strategic transformation. The new brand identity expresses the brand’s purpose of ‘equal existence’.

In 2022, she joined The Good Glamm Group as Head of Marketing for Organic Harvest. In addition to Organic Harvest, she is responsible for managing the beauty category with Manish Malhotra Beauty, POPxo, and The Moms Co. He then moved to Microsoft, where he assumed the role of Marketing Manager. Dr. Bajaj’s career skyrocketed with his appointment as Head of Media and Brand Alliance at Ola (ANI Technologies). He then transitioned to Healthcare Industry with Docs App, and later joined MediBuddy. Kartik began his career selling IT Infrastructure products in 2009, when domain names and webhosting were esoteric products. As a part of a 5-people team, he was responsible for all national and international marketing executions for a business unit within Directi (an Indian IT products behemoth). This provided him with a foundational understanding of how the back end of the internet operates. His MBA in the US (from 2011-14) provided him with a structural understanding of a variety of marketing strategies, while running two startups in parallel. From 2014 till date, Kartik deconstructed FMCG marketing, as Nobel Hygiene scaled the business in top-line growth in 10 years.

Before joining Paisabazaar, Sachin co-founded a digital agency called Weblores Online that managed over 25 accounts across diverse industries such as education, travel, and BFSI. He is an IMI post-graduate and prior to that studied BTECH at Meerut Institute of Engineering and Technology.

Sahil Sethi heads P&G India’s Health Care category that includes the leading brand Vicks. He joined P&G in 2011 and has since grown in the company across various leadership roles. During his stint, Sahil led iconic brands like Vicks, Head & Shoulders, Pantene, and Olay, across multiple geographies, including India, Australia, China, Korea, and Southeast Asia. Prior to his current role, Sahil led the marketing function for P&G across Malaysia, Singapore & Vietnam markets. Over the years, he has been recognised by several prestigious forums, including APAC Effies, FMCG Asia, Appies and MMA Smarties. He is an alumnus of IIM, Ahmedabad.

Sahil Sethi

Samir Sethi is the Head of Brand Marketing at Policybazaar. Having been with Policybazaar for close to 10 years, Samir Sethi has driven a number of brand campaigns, with a special focus on Term & Health insurance. These are extremely underpenetrated categories, leaving the Indian middle class financially exposed, and creating a massive insurance protection gap in a push driven category like insurance. Hence, these campaigns have managed to create a strong consumer pull for the brand. Before Policybazaar, Samir was a strategic planner with Ogilvy & Mather for around 4 years, working on a portfolio of brands- Coca-Cola, GSK, and Britannia.

Soumen Das leads the marketing function of one of the prime respiratory divisions under the flagship vertical of Cipla.
